In 2023, Rolls-Royce unveiled its first electric vehicle (EV), the Spectre. Knowing Rolls-Royce, we were sure they weren’t done, and we have been proven right. Rolls-Royce has announced that their new one of one Rolls-Royce Spectre called the “Spectre Semaphore” is set to debut at this year’s The Quail.
For those who don’t know, The Quail is a motorsport gathering organized by Monterey car week. This year’s event is scheduled for the 16th of August. The Semaphore is coated in a distinct beautiful Yellow Semaphore finish, but that is not the most interesting thing about it. The hood’s design which Rolls-Royce has named the “Marble Paint Spill” is.
Rolls-Royce says the Semaphore Spectre is inspired by the California coastline and its many mountain ranges and beaches. Also they claim that it took a mind-blowing 160 hours to complete.
Robb Report in their article said the design on the hood recalls paintings by Morris Lewis or Paul Jenkins, whose poured color fields expressed lyrical abstract patterns across vast expanses of canvas or paper.
The interior wasn’t left out at all, Rolls-Royce wrapped it in bespoke lemon yellow and citric yellow leather. Likewise the wood used for the interior was highly polished and finished in Cashmere Grey paint infused with silver mica flakes that sparkle when it comes in contact with light.
Usually, whoever is buying from Rolls-Royce orders to specifications but not this time around. There is just one Spectre Semaphore, and all design was done by Rolls-Royce.
There’s no official price at the moment, however, we expect that it will cost more than the regular Rolls-Royce Spectre. Any purchase will be exclusively through authorized dealer partners of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in the United States according to Rolls-Royce.
