Every year, there is a question every car lover all over the world needs an answer to; ‘What are the Top 10 Fastest Cars in the World?’, but at 234drive we decided to bring it home by doing a deep dive on the top 10 fastest cars in Nigeria.
We are sure that these cars exist in Nigeria, but what we are not sure of is if these cars can ever reach their maximum potential since there are no extensive speed testing facilities here for supercars.
So, what are the fastest cars ever spotted on Nigerian roads ? Let’s get right into it, starting from the least to the fastest.
10. Lexus LFA — 0–60 mph: 3.6–3.7 sec | Top Speed: 202 mph
This is a limited-production supercar powered by a 4.8L V10 engine putting out about 552 hp. The LFA is renowned for its exceptional build quality, unique sound, and advanced materials like carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP).
Conceived in 2000, it’s safe to say this was Lexus’ dream car as a company as it took them nearly a decade to finalise the design and finally kick off production in 2009. Only 500 of these cars were made, which is why to get one today, you are spending at least 1.5 billion Naira, including customs clearance fees into the country.

This car was first sighted in Abuja and later seen in Lagos in recent times, around the Lekki area. We sighted this car in 2023 on an early Saturday morning, just cruising in an estate around the Lekki Phase 1 area.
Fun fact: this car has a unique sound because Yamaha worked with Lexus to develop the exhaust sound using titanium pipes.
9. BMW M8 Competition — 0–60 mph: 3.4–3.8 sec | Top Speed: 180–190 mph
The 9th fastest car in Nigeria is the BMW M8 Competition Coupe, a 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8 car that whips out around 625HP.

When we posted this video on our YouTube Channel, a lot of people commented that the M5 CS is the fastest BMW ever made because of the 2.6 seconds 0 to 60mph but what they didn’t know is that there is a difference between fast & quick.
The M5 CS is quicker, meaning it has a higher acceleration, but the M8 Competition has a higher top speed, which makes it the fastest production BMW ever made.
8. Lamborghini Urus Performante — 0–60 mph: 3.3–3.5 sec | Top Speed: 190 mph
In a country where the Lamborghini Urus is the new Corolla, it is easy to forget that this car is a track king. The Performante trim of the Urus is a high-performance SUV with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 producing 657 hp. The Performante variant includes weight reductions and improved aerodynamics for enhanced agility.

The Performante has been spotted for sale in Abuja, but we think someone bought it already. This car easily does 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds and can reach a top speed of 306 KM/hr.
Note: The Lamborghini Urus SE is the fastest Lamborghini Urus trim, followed by the Performante but as fast as we know, there is no Urus SE in Nigeria yet.
7. Ferrari 458 Italia — 0–60 mph: 3.3–3.4 sec | Top Speed: 202 mph
The most popular person with this car in Nigeria is Burna Boy but there are about five 458 Italias currently in Nigeria and boy o boy, this car is fastttt.

The Ferrari 458 Italia boasts a 4.5L naturally aspirated V8 with 570 hp. Celebrated for its sharp handling and high-revving engine, it marked a significant step forward in Ferrari’s design and technology.
I think every Ferrari looks very unique so there is no need to talk about how excellent this supercar looks.
To get this car in Nigeria today, it will set you back between 300 – 500 Million NGN for the newer models—this car ran between 2009 and 2015.
6. Audi R8 V10 Plus — 0–60 mph: 3.2 sec | Top Speed: 205 mph
The Audi R8 is one of the most common supercars we see on Nigerian roads, but the fastest of them all is the R8 V10 Plus, equipped with a 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 delivering 602 hp. The R8 V10 Plus offers a balance of everyday usability and supercar performance, featuring Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

This car is very fast, zooming from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and costs about 300 million NGN for a fresh, clean used one with low mileage.
We have reviewed a 2010 Audi R8 on our YouTube channel with a V10 while on a Lagos Sunday Drive convoy. Riding in the front seat was a once-in-a-lifetime moment because the handling, precision and braking ability of the Audi R8 is truly exceptional.
5. McLaren 650S — 0–60 mph: 2.9–3.0 sec | Top Speed: 207 mph
In Lagos, there is a green McLaren 650s, a 2.9 seconds 0 to 60 accelerating Supercar that is reportedly owned by Forex trader Jeffry Benson. The 650S features a 3.8L twin-turbo V8 with 641 hp.

It introduced McLaren’s ProActive Chassis Control system, enhancing ride comfort and handling precision. This car costs about ₦450 Million today.
4. Lamborghini Aventador SVJ — 0–60 mph: 2.8 sec | Top Speed: 217 mph
The Lamborghini Aventador is one of the most popular supercars in Nigeria at the moment because this was the Lamborghini everyone was buying before the Urus was introduced to the market.
The Urus is more practical as an SUV with supercar abilities but real supercar lovers won’t trade practicality for the joy you get in an Aventador.
The SVJ is the highest performing Aventador and so far so good, I can only confirm that Burna Boy is the only one with the SVJ in Nigeria but if there is more you can let me know.

The SVJ does 0 to 60 in just 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 347 km/h so that means if the road were smooth, this car will go from lagos to ibadan in just 19 minutes.
Powered by a 6.5L naturally aspirated V12 producing 759 hp, the SVJ incorporates active aerodynamics and lightweight materials, making it one of Lamborghini’s most track-focused models
Buying the SVJ in Nigeria costs you nothing less than 1.2 Billion NGN while the regular Aventador which isn’t regular by the way costs you about 800 Million NGN.
3. McLaren 750S — 0–60 mph: 2.7 sec | Top Speed: 206 mph
Wizkid’s McLaren is the 3rd fastest car in Nigeria currently, the 750S features a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 delivering 740 hp.

It’s McLaren’s lightest and most powerful series-production supercar. The car looks superfast and it does exactly that.
Wizkid paid about 1.7 Billion NGN for this car from Polanco and he rarely even drives it.
2. Porsche 992 Turbo S — 0–60 mph: 2.2–2.5 sec | Top Speed: 205 mph
Just recently, a Porsche 992 Turbo S showed up in Abuja, and it has started getting popular because the owner has been showing off its performance on the road.

The 992 Turbo S offers a 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six engine with 640 hp, but unlike every other supercar on this list, this is one you can drive every day.
This car started production in 2018 and has still been running till now, as Porsche always takes their time with car generations.
1. Ferrari SF90 Stradale Assetto Fiorano — 0–60 mph: 2.0–2.3 sec | Top Speed: 211 mph
The Ferrari SF90 Asseto Fiorano is currently the fastest car in Nigeria as we speak, with a top speed of 340km/hr.
This is Ferrari’s first plug-in hybrid supercar, combining a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors to produce 986 hp. The Assetto Fiorano package includes weight-saving measures and enhanced aerodynamics for track performance.

Wizkid has one, too, and I know there is also a white one in Lagos that comes out to play very rarely.
I know you are asking yourself why Burna Boy’s McLaren & Davido’s Lamborghini Reveulto are not on this list ?
It may interest you to know that the SF90 Wizkid’s SF90 is actually faster than Burna’s Senna and Davido’s Lambo has not been imported into Nigeria yet.

Back to the Senna, it has a top speed of 335km/hr and a 0 to 60 time of 2.7 seconds, however, the Senna costs more than the SF90 because it is an antique. It costs about two times the SF90 because it is more of a collector’s item with its exposed carbon body and it is 1 of 500 made in the world.
Rumour has it that Wizkid paid ₦1.7 billion for his SF90 while the Senna dug a 3.5 billion naira hole in Buna’s pocket.
That may actually be the most expensive car in the country as we speak, but rumour has it that Dangote has a Bugatti Chiron in his garage even though nobody seems to have seen a photo, a video or even the shadow of this Bugatti. Our best guess is that Dangote has this car but it’s not here in Nigeria.
If there is any car you think we may have missed on this list, kindly let us know in the comments.
