Auto giant Ford has announced that it is partnering with bike company N plus to launch two new eBikes. These bikes are inspired by their bestselling models the Bronco and the Mustang.
Over the years, car makers have partnered with bike manufacturers in developing e-bikes but this time it’s different. Ford says it’s unique because these bikes are tied directly to their most celebrated models.
Though they don’t have the power of the cars, the eBikes still accelerate up to an amazing 28mph. A full charge takes 3.5 hours and could last as long as sixty miles depending on several factors. Weight of the rider, driving behavior, maintenance and battery age are some of those factors.
“These new eBikes will allow more people to experience the adventurous spirit of a Bronco and the exhilaration of a Mustang from the moment they grip the handlebars,” Tyler Hill, Ford’s global brand licensing manager, said in a statement.
The price for the Bronco starts at $4,500, and $4,000 for the Mustang. Customers can choose from ten other colors after paying an additional $390.
Both bikes come with a 750W Hub-Mounted Motor that provides 85 Nm of torque for unparalleled performance. While the Bronco is designed with a G.O.A.T.™ (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) inspired dual suspension system, Ford said in their statement.
It features Four-Piston Hydraulic Brakes that deliver superior braking performance for enhanced control. The handlebar has a Full-Color LCD Panel, providing information about speed, battery life, and range.
As earlier stated, this isn’t the first time a car maker is partnering with a bike manufacturer. GM, Porsche, Jeep, Polestar have all made their foray, but this feels a lot more promising. We are excited.
