The all-new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado looks nothing like a regular prado, but that’s not a bad thing.
At first glance, you may notice some resemblance between the Toyota Land cruiser Prado, the Ford Bronco and even Toyota’s FJ cruiser. Believe me, other than the first flash, they have nothing else in common.
According to Toyota, this model of the Land Cruiser Prado is inspired by the earliest models of the SUV that have over 70 years been characterized with functionality, solidity, and reliability. It’s their attempt at going back to the roots.
The new Prado was unveiled in Nigeria for the first time on the 20th of July 2024, by ToyotabyCFAO, Toyota’s distributor in Nigeria. The colorful evening was graced by celebrities, car enthusiasts, and everyday consumers alike. It started with a beautiful outdoor rendition by a group of violinists, while guests graced the red carpet, after which the main event began.
Two trims were unveiled at the event, the first is called the Toyota Prado Land Cruiser Limited Edition First edition which is a limited production volume grade that will be offered in African regions. It will be available in Sand or Smoky Blue colors with lite gray roof (Dual tone), rounded headlamps and many more specific First Edition details.
While the other is the Toyota Prado Land Cruiser Adventure First Edition. This car is the Limited Edition with a little more spice. Giving us more horsepower and even a third row seat.
Some new features in the Prado are the new 2.8L turbo diesel engine churning out 204hp, a massive 500 Nm of torque and the electric power steering. It’s worthy of note that this is the first time the Prado is getting an electric power steering system.
At launch, the all new 2024 Land Cruiser Prado sits at around 170 million naira.
By launching this 2024 Toyota landcruiser prado, ToyotabyCFAO puts other major distributors on the spot; who are left with the decision of launching the same version later or a different version, the hybrid perhaps?.
