Tesla has been in the spotlight for a while now and mostly for good reasons. The Tesla Cybertruck for one has become the new ‘flex’ for celebrities. Every other week, a celebrity shows off his or her newly purchased Cybertruck. In the last quarter of 2024, Tesla also stole the spotlight with its fully autonomous Tesla Cybercab reveal. Additionally, the Tesla Model Y made headlines last month after it got an eye-catching refresh. So, it is quite glaring that Tesla is putting in work.
The innovative automaker is yet again in the spotlight as the Model S and X models are set to receive refreshes before the end of 2025. The refreshes are intended to bring the S and X line-ups up to date with the latest technologies pioneered by the Cybertruck. These refreshes are very much warranted as the Model S and X have received no significant changes, especially to the exterior, since they debuted in 2012 and 2015, respectively. Just like the Model Y which received an interesting update to its exterior, the Model S and X should also receive impressive make-overs.

Model S and X Refreshes So Far
The Model S is attributed to be the car that puts Tesla on the map as the leading producer of EVs. The Model X, on the other hand, at time of its debut was the most rad SUV money could buy. I mean, how many SUVs till date can boast of having falcon-wing doors? Since the inception of both models, they have received subtle updates like adaptive headlights. Most important were the HW4/AI4 Autopilot computer and sensors updates for better self-driving function.
What to Expect from Tesla
The Tesla Model Y for example just received some updates to its looks. One thing that seemed apparent was the number of design cues it had from the Cybertruck. Most notable were its new headlight and tail-light designs. The new design featured a single line of lead lights that ran from end to end. This headlight and tail-light design was also seen on the Cybercab. So, it is very probable that these designs will trickle down to the refreshed Model S and X.

Finally, the just refreshed Model Y gives us an idea of what the refreshed Model S and X could look like. However, we could be wrong, because Tesla could come up with something totally new. Until official teasers are released by Tesla, we can only use our imaginations. What are your thoughts on the proposed new look of the Model S and Y?
