The event brought together journalists and media professionals to explore the future of mobility in Nigeria and the role electric mobility will play in shaping it.
Managing Director of Spiro West Africa, Prasad Sane, presented the company’s mission to improve urban mobility, create jobs and empower riders with affordable, eco-friendly transport options.

‘I have never seen an electric vehicle brand like Spiro that not only supplies vehicles but also sets up an infrastructure to make sure the mobility solution is sustainable long term’
Spiro recently got honoured with the ‘Most Sustainable Integrated Electric Vehicle Ecosystem Company of the Year’ award at the West Africa Sustainability Summit (WASA) 2026. A feat that the company has worked relentlessly for since it first started its Nigerian operations in 2024.
The Head of Operations, Edward Amanambu, also mentioned Spiro’s plan to expand its Nigerian operations to 3 new states in the Northern region while reinforcing the company’s determination to walk through the challenge of Nigeria’s Power Supply situation.

The statistics that stood out for Spiro as a new energy company in Nigeria were its operational numbers: 150K+ Bikes on the move, 50 Million + Swaps done and 2500+ Swap Stations in just 3 years.
Attendees experienced a live demonstration of Spiro’s Ekon M1 Version 2, with hands-on sessions that allowed them to experience the technology firsthand.

The event also featured an interactive Q&A session, where journalists had the opportunity to ask questions about Spiro’s operations, expansion plans and the future of electric mobility in Nigeria.
Community Impact
With a growing network of charging stations, service centres and rider support systems, the company is positioning itself as a key player in Nigeria’s transition to sustainable mobility. By assembling the motorcycles in Sagamu, Ogun State, Spiro has been able to provide jobs to over 400 Nigerians directly, with an intentional endeavour in employing Women.
With over 150,000 motorcycles on the road, businesses are being serviced and income is being generated by the riders.

The Media Connect event also served to strengthen Spiro’s relationship with the press and foster public awareness about the benefits of electric mobility by engaging directly with journalists.
